Yamaha True X 50A Soundbar, True X Wireless Surrounds | What Took So Long?

Yamaha True X 50A Soundbar, True X Wireless Surrounds | What Took So Long?

We unbox and take a first-look at the Yamaha True X BAR 50A soundbar and 1A wireless surround speakers. We’ve waited years for this type of flexibility from a home theater surround system. The True X rechargeable speakers work with the soundbar as surrounds or can be used separately as portable Bluetooth speakers. The result is a system with a ton of utility but how well does it perform as a traditional home theater system?

  1. JBL soundbar also have batteries powered rear speakers that has bluetooth capability to connect to a phone for example… And those soundbars are on the market for quite sometime. Your research looking for another brand with this was not so good.

  2. Wired speakers for me it’s better, i really don’t care about wireless surround speakers.

  3. Do the a1 surround speakers turn on automatically with the rest of the system when you want the surround sound, or you have to turn them on manually every time ?

  4. Hii!!! what do you recommend for music and movies? Yamaha SR-X50A, Samsung HW-Q995GC/ZG, JBL BAR 1300 Or JBL BAR 1000? what is the best sound bar?

  5. What happen if the battery depleted for a period of time? I hope Yamaha has this option to buy spare battery when depletion comes.

I admired Yamaha when it comes to sound.👍👍👍

  6. Who really wants to spend $1000 on a surround sound system though? It’s $600 alone just for the bar and sub. Everything else is sold separately. No thanks.

  7. HAAAhahahahah. I KNEW IT! I knew there was another one out there, and I honestly suspected it was a JBL, but believe it or not, since I’ve not used the 1300x, I had to rely on product descriptions and they do a terrible promoting the Bluetooth-streaming-to-surround speakers part on their retail partner sites. It’s also down about 3 scrolls on their product page. But, y’all are right, of course, it is there. I’ll have to tip my hat to the pleasant fellow who let me know that my "research is a joke." Indeed, joke’s on me. Thanks for the positivity, guy. Anyway, I stand behind my take on the system on the whole, but I guess the thumbnail and intro is a bit of a fail, LOL. Oh well. We all gotta screw up sometime — good thing I get to do it on YouTube in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers. Good times. Take it easy out there.

  8. Thanks For the great ‘sort of review’. still comprehensive and really handy information. For the remote speakers, what were the pedestals that you had them sitting on?

  9. all sound like crap 😂 real home theaters need a bit better stuff then these crap "speakers" 😮

  10. Great. Went into a Hifi place the other day to ask about wireless surround speakers. The guy sniggered and said nope, no way and to actually run wires. When I stated I had a concrete floor, doorways in the way and did not want to run ugly wires up to my rafters then down to the back of the room just for a pair of small speakers he refused to even contemplate any other option. My next problem is are these Yamaha speakers compatible with my Marantz AV Reciever? I dont need the rest as I have my own speakers already, except for back surround ones.

  11. Not sure if this is a good question. When you say Surround Audio are saying that the audio from the surround speakers is the same as what is coming out of the Sound Bar? I remember when Surround Sound first came out the audio was not the same, the surround speaker put out background audio from the video.

  12. Love the reference of diehard is a Christmas movie lol😂 always great content superb job, Caleb

  13. Battery powered Speakers sounds like a step back in sustainability and convince.

Middle of movie battery is dead. 😵

  14. I have the JBL 9.1 (5.1.4) and very happy with it. Not sure if the rear speakers are not Bluetooth, and I’m ok with that since i have dedicated Bluetooth speakers. Paid 550 for it (i believe that to be a deal)

  15. horrid LOCK IN. Screw any company that forces you to only use proprietary parts. You know they will stop supporting it in a few years and you are left with a doorstop, not to mention the way you get absolutely hosed as they upcharge everything because you cant just use a different Sub or Satalite.

  16. Philips Fidelio HTL9100 has true wireless units from looong time (8-10years ?) 😊 . B5 has portable Bluetooth function too (7 years ago)
    B97 even Comcast Inbuild…

  17. Problem with all you can do rear speakers is that, when you want them for movies at home, they go missing. Or the battery is drained. Or you can’t even buy them because they are all sold out (bought by movie buffs and active lifestyle music listeners)

  18. My jbl 1300x has this BT feature(even in stereo by using both), works a treat for backyard fun

  19. JBL 1300x surround speaker do the same thing and it’s been years they are doing that😊

  20. Thanks mate. I was wondering whether the charge pads would be worth it, but thanks for clarifying they’re not.

  21. can you use the surround speakers as a front speaker so you can say… move it into another room for sports? Ive got 2 tvs near each other in adjacent rooms and the audio isnt synced for sports. would be nice to take the portable speaker into the kitchen tv area and turn the kitchen tv sound off so its synced

  22. Just get a home theater, I got one of these sound bar and I regretted my money I spent on them. the quality and customization does not come close to a home theater and the price is also a big concern. Home theaters comes with cables but you can run them though the wall or find another way of hiding them. a $500 home theater would beat any sound bar on the market anytime in sound quality (surround sound) and sound equalizer (customization).

  23. "But Caleb…!!!" Had me ROLLING !!!! Thanks for the review , now if only wireless HDMI would become standard and integrated into all A/V equipment !!!
